Trouvere

Similar to troubadour music, trouvère music originated in Northern France in the 12th century. It also focused on courtly love and featured elaborate melodies and poetic lyrics, but was sung in the Old French language. Trouvères often performed in courts and were highly respected by nobility. Their music had a significant impact on the development of French music.
