Cajun

A genre of music that originated in the French-speaking Acadian communities of Louisiana in the late 18th century. Cajun music is characterized by its use of the accordion, fiddle, and triangle, as well as its lively rhythms and French lyrics. The genre has roots in traditional French folk music, as well as African American and Native American music. Famous Cajun musicians include Clifton Chenier, BeauSoleil, and Zachary Richard.
