Reggae

Originating in Jamaica in the late 1960s, reggae is a genre of music that combines elements of ska, rocksteady, and R&B. It is characterized by its distinctive rhythm, known as the "one drop," and its socially conscious lyrics that often address issues of poverty, oppression, and injustice. Reggae is also known for its heavy use of bass and drums, as well as its incorporation of traditional Jamaican instruments such as the nyabinghi drum and the melodica.
