Trova

Originating in Spain and Latin America in the 19th century, trova music was characterized by its use of acoustic guitar and its focus on social and political issues. It featured poetic lyrics and simple melodies, often sung in a conversational style. Trova musicians were often associated with leftist political movements and their music was used to spread messages of social justice and revolution. Trova has since become a popular genre in Latin American music.
