Turkish Post-punk

Turkish post-punk emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s as a response to the political turmoil and social unrest in Turkey at the time. It is characterized by its gritty, abrasive sound, often featuring distorted guitars, driving basslines, and confrontational lyrics. Bands such as Siyah Beyaz and Gece formed the core of the Turkish post-punk scene, which continues to influence contemporary Turkish rock music.
