Early American Folk

This genre emerged in the 19th century and was characterized by its simplicity and storytelling qualities. It was often performed by people with little to no formal musical training and was passed down through oral tradition. Early American folk music was heavily influenced by African American spirituals, European ballads, and Native American music.
