Speed garage is a subgenre of garage house that emerged in the UK in the mid-1990s. It is characterized by fast and syncopated beats, heavy basslines, and chopped-up vocal samples. The genre is influenced by UK garage, jungle, and drum and bass, and often features elements of dub and reggae. Speed garage was popular in the UK club scene in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
