Trecento

Trecento is a term used to describe the music of the 14th century in Italy. It is characterized by its use of polyphony, or multiple voices singing different melodies at the same time. Trecento music often features secular themes, such as love and nature, and was performed in courts and other aristocratic settings. Composers of trecento music include Francesco Landini and Jacopo da Bologna.
